Course Instructor: Literature & Composition

Dr. Kat Patrick is originally from Texas but has lived on the outskirts of Oxford in England for the past twenty years.  She homeschools four children under the age of 14, using the Charlotte Mason method.

In her "previous" life, she taught English at the University of Delaware, then moved to England where she took up posts as an English teacher in private high schools in Oxford. The joke is that she has more letters after her name than are in her name (11 as opposed to 10): BA, MA, PhD, PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education), and is nearing the end of a distance-learning associates' degree in theology from St John's College, Nottingham.

Currently, she is an Assistant Examiner for A-levels with the prestigious Cambridge International Examinations Board in the UK.

Course Instructors Needed: What about YOU?

We are always looking for passionate educators who want to teach homeschooling teens. We prefer instructors with credentials that demonstrate success in their field of knowledge. We prefer instructors who have had success in teaching homeschooling students. (Your own is proof enough for us!). We prefer instructors who are passionate about their subject matter. And, lastly, while not required, we prefer instructors familiar with the methodology of Charlotte Mason and/or Living Books Education philosophies who are interested in bringing those ideas to an online classroom format.

Course Graders/Teaching Assistants Needed: What about YOU?

We are expanding and looking for persons interested in being course graders or teaching assistants. Duties include making course announcements, distributing assignments, updating course statistics for each student (ie, completion of assignments), and communicating with the instructor on a regular basis for any additional help that may be needed. Work load is expected to be approximately 1 hour per week. The TA must be comfortable with technology, able to use email, word processing tools and spreadheets at a minimum level. The ideal person would have a student enrolled in one of our courses and would receive, by way of compensation, free tuition for the enrolled child. If you are interested, please contact us for additional details.
