Description:



The Honors Writing Intensive (HWI) is for the student who is interested in writing more in-depth essays regarding the literature being read in the Core Courses and who would like feedback from the instructor regarding their writings. This is a great add-on for the student who:

 

• wants constructive feedback regarding their essay writings,

• likes to dig more deeply into the literature being read, or

• is college bound and would like an honors level distinction added to their studies.

HWI students will write an additional essay per month (essay questions/topics to be assigned by the instructor), with time for feedback and critique by the instructor before beginning a new essay. Successful completion of the  add-on course qualifies the student for a high school level British Literature credit with honors distinction.





Prerequisites & Requirements:


Students must be enrolled in a corresponding Core Course offered by CM Live. Students should be reading and writing independently at a high school level and be willing and able to take on challenging materials in an independent fashion. Students should be able to type so that they can participate in the live chat and submit their work via word processing documents. Students must remain committed to the Core Course texts and assignments while completing the assignments for this additional course add-on. Assignments in the Add-On course are not a substitute for the assignments required in the Core Course.

Cost:​



Cost for the Honors Writing Intensive Add-On Course is $100. This includes 8-10 essays per year based on literature covered in the Core Course.
